This position is a member of our Air Permits Division.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOINGServe as Lead Internet Developer for the Air Permits Division for both the public web site and the employee Intranet (Sharenet). Serve as the point of contact for division-level Internet activities. Conduct or oversee posting of electronic content on the Internet/Intranet for the Air Permits Division. Develop and maintain web applications. Develop programs on the application of web design and techniques and procedures.
May plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others.
Analyze the layout of Internet/Intranet web pages for efficiency and effectiveness. Assist in determining the arrangements of web pages, and arrange layout based upon available space, knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts. Determine operational, technical, and support requirements for the operation and maintenance of databases, text, and graphics.
Conduct or lead in the implementation of state accessibility requirements and remediate electronic content following agency standards. Design and implement new or revised agency guidance for webpage design that effectively meets the needs of the agency. Assist in preparing graphics, text, and tables. Ensure materials posted on agency web sites conform to agency standards, including accessibility standards.
May analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations concerning existing information technology/systems processes and the development of new procedures, standards, tools, and techniques. Analyze new and existing software programs and design, develop, and maintain computer applications. Track usage of system and advise management of the status and progress of projects and processes.
Train and mentor staff in web design and development projects. May assist information systems security administration. Perform related work as assigned.
KEY QUALIFICATIONSExperience in advanced level webpage maintenance/development or design.
Experience in managing website content and/or techniques used in the design of web applications.
Required Education & Experience- Webmaster Certification, plus two (2) years of full‑time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.
- Four (4) years of full‑time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.
- A bachelor's degree with 12 semester hours in computer science, web design, web development, or web programming/coding from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of full‑time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.
- Completion of 30 semester hours (600 clock hours) in computer science, web design, web development, or web programming/coding from a licensed vocational, technical, business or accredited college, plus three (3) years of full‑time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.

Current TCEQ EmployeesThis position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Web Administrator III state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Web Administrator III series.
Work ScheduleStandard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Air Permits Division.
