TPWD - Systems Analyst III; Quality Assurance​/UX Analyst

General Description

Under the direction of the application development manager, this position performs complex (journey-level) computer systems analysis work. Work involves performing manual and automated Quality Assurance aspects of projects. Work with other Architects, team leads, QA staff and project managers to analyze the requirements and test whether the applications conform to the standards and requirements, as well as to verify that the changes do not break any existing functionalities.

May serve as QA Analyst or UI/UX designer in various projects. The candidate should have a good understanding of UI/UX design methods, standards, wire framing, tools, and user experience analysis. The role functions under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment, performs additional duties as assigned, and complies with all agency, division and branch rules, regulations, and procedures.

• Education: Sixty semester hours from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Five years of full-time experience in performing Quality Assurance of enterprise applications in Java and/or mobile applications.
• Two years of experience in UI/UX design using Figma or comparable design tools.
• One year of programming experience in QA automation.
• One year of experience in testing mobile applications.
• One year of experience in Accessibility (ADA compliance) testing.

  Experience may have occurred concurrently.

• Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with testing coursework.
• Experience: Experience testing large and complex enterprise applications.

• Knowledge of architectural concepts for achieving end-to-end performance, scalability, availability, reliability, integration, accessibility, and security.
• Knowledge of user research, wire framing, prototyping, user flows, and usability testing.
• Knowledge of current technological trends in software development and hardware architecture.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Knowledge of infrastructure for running web applications.
• Knowledge of project management concepts.
• Knowledge of creating ADA Section 508 compliant web sites.
• Skill in developing test cases for testing mobile and web applications.
• Skill in writing scripts and performing automated and manual regression testing.
• Skill in designing User Interface and translating into prototype.
• Skill in using desktop tools, IDEs such as Eclipse.
• Skill in using UI/UX design tools like Figma, Sketch, or other comparable design tools.
• Skill in using MUI.
• Skill in writing SQL in industry‑standard relational databases and using SQL for analysis, migration and support of applications.
• Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Skill in SDLC and various aspects of Quality Assurance.
• Skill in dealing with large volume of information, multiple projects and disparate users.
• Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers and work‑related contacts.
• Skill in managing several projects simultaneously.
• Skill in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
