Schwab is recruiting to hire a driven, results‑oriented Business Systems Analyst/Scrum Lead who shares our passion for technology, innovation, and excellence. You will be part of the Risk Technology team and will help design, develop, and support the Schwab Risk platform. The platform is part of the Schwab Technology Services (STS) organization which is responsible for the company’s use of information technology, including all telecommunications, operations, and client and business applications. Investments, Credit and Trading Technology.

The candidate will work with a development team of .NET engineers and be responsible for investment lifecycle solutions in Financial Risk Technology.

We believe in the importance of in‑office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work onsite in the specified location(s).

Essential Functions

The Scrum Lead will have a hands‑on role in managing the Scrum process within technology teams. They help their teams adopt and improve on the Scrum methodology, coach them to higher levels of maturity, and ensure adherence to the framework. They serve as the Scrum framework authority for their teams and evangelize and educate their teams on both the process and the benefits of following it.

As a Business Systems Analyst, you will work with dedicated teams to deliver business value through development and delivery execution. You will facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution, evangelize, demonstrate, and live Agile values.

What you will do
  • Act as a Scrum Master for up to 2–3 Agile teams simultaneously.
  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the team by encouraging them to adopt and mature good Scrum processes according to the Scrum Guide.
  • Organize and facilitate effective Scrum meetings: backlog grooming, Sprint planning, daily Scrum, Sprint review, and Sprint retrospective.
  • Gather, define and prioritize business requirements and ensure those requirements are clearly translated into technical specifications for configuration & custom features development with the Corporate Credit Research team.
  • Directly engage with business and technical teams, product owners, stakeholders at various levels to implement in the CATS2 application.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with the CATS2 development team members and stakeholders.
  • Work with and coach Product Owners to develop, manage, and continuously groom the team’s product backlog.
  • In partnership with the Product Owner, track and communicate to stakeholders information such as team velocity, Sprint/release progress, impediments, team successes, etc.
  • In coordination with Project Managers, facilitate cross‑team coordination and collaboration when projects require it.
  • Assist Product Owners and the Development team with planning and grooming activities.

  • A thorough understanding and appreciation for the Agile values and principles.
  • A good understanding of:
    • Backlog grooming and relative estimating
    • PI‑Planning
    • Release planning
    • Sprint planning
    • Scrum metrics such as Sprint burndown, release burnup, & velocity, to name a few
    • Sprint review best practices and techniques
    • A variety of retrospective techniques
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree of any discipline
