Job Description & How to Apply Below

This is a fully in-office role in Austin, TX. Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm CT.

Our client is a well established company in the HR / Recruiting Technology space. You'll be a Product Manager working across our search, engagement, and platform teams. You'll work alongside experienced engineering and data science teams who know the product and the domain well. Your role is to add market perspective, product strategy, and a data-driven approach to figuring out what to build next.

You'll help define what good PM work looks like here, which means building relationships, earning trust, and showing your value through the decisions you make and the results that follow. You'll shape consumer-facing products that help candidates discover the right opportunities, including our job search experience, email and SMS engagement channels, and features designed to turn first-time visitors into returning users.

Responsibilities
  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across search, engagement, and platform. Work with engineering leads to get alignment on priorities and build real buy-in around where we're headed.
  • Figure out where the biggest opportunities are by understanding both sides of the marketplace: what advertisers need to spend well, and what job seekers need to find, apply to, and come back for the right jobs.
  • Have a point of view on where product should go. Back it up with data about market gaps, competitive dynamics, and customer behavior. Be willing to defend it.
  • Work directly with engineering on technical tradeoffs. You should be comfortable talking about search ranking, recommendation systems, engagement optimization, bid mechanics, and consumer-facing UI/UX, even if you're not writing the code.
  • Help build the product management function: figure out what good PM work looks like at and put rituals and processes in place that add value without adding overhead.
  • Bridge the gap between what customers ask for and what the business actually needs. Turn sales feedback, job seeker behavior data, and engagement metrics into product strategy.
  • Own job seeker retention and engagement across channels (web, email, SMS). Use data to understand what brings candidates back and what converts them into returning users.
  • Define success metrics for your initiatives and hold yourself accountable to them.
Required qualifications
  • 2+ years of product management experience as the primary PM embedded directly with an engineering team.
  • Track record of influencing without authority. You've changed the direction of a team or product by getting buy-in from people who didn't report to you. We'll ask for specific examples.
  • Experience shaping a PM function. You've helped grow or reshape a product management function, earned trust from technical teams, and shown your value through results, not process.
  • Comfortable in technical debate. You can disagree with a senior engineer, stay open to their perspective, and keep the working relationship intact. You're steady under pressure and work through disagreement constructively.
  • Technically fluent. You don't need to code, but you need to keep up in conversations about search systems, ranking algorithms, auction mechanics, and data pipelines. Engineers should feel like you get the tradeoffs they're dealing with.
  • Consumer product sense. You've worked on user-facing products and you naturally think about what makes someone come back, what drives engagement, and how design choices affect behavior. You're comfortable working with designers and making calls that balance business goals with job seeker needs.
  • Data-driven. You reach for evidence, not opinion. When you propose something, you've already thought about how you'd measure whether it's working.
  • BA/BS required; technical degree a strong plus.
  • Must be permanently eligible to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in ad-tech, programmatic advertising, or two-sided marketplaces
  • Background in search, relevance, recommendation systems, or user engagement
  • Experience with consumer-facing web or mobile products, including lifecycle marketing, retention, or growth
  • Experience in talent acquisition, HR tech, or job board…
