Network Developer

Job Description

Supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large‑scale global Oracle cloud computing environment (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure – OCI). Primarily focused on development and support of network fabric and systems through a deep understanding of networking at the protocol level combined with programming skills to support the intensive automation required to operate a production environment. OCI is a cloud‑based network with a global footprint, supporting hundreds of thousands of network devices and millions of servers over a mix of dedicated backbone infrastructure and the Internet.

Lead network lifecycle management programs by defining high‑level objectives and delivery procedures. Organize project technical milestones and supporting tasks. May serve as project technical lead, coordinating effort of two or three engineers, advising the project/program manager and coordinating with immediate and skip‑level leadership. Collaborate across teams within the same organization and serve as a technical SME in cross‑functional activities. Own technical responsibility for moderately complex projects, including requirements, specifications, and documentation.

Decompose high‑level architectures into detailed designs. Lead multiple engineers in developing network solutions consisting of multiple modules with complex interactions; work with supporting service teams to ensure solutions are supported by monitoring and automation systems. Serve as Tier‑2 or specialized escalation point for network events and provide break‑fix support for large‑scale events. Act as SME for root‑cause analysis efforts. Frequently develop scripts to automate complex tasks for the business unit.

May serve as a technical lead on network automation design and delivery projects. Hold a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and provide guidance to technical and senior technical staff. Interpret input from leaders and provide focused development to junior members. Conduct technical coaching sessions and help junior members develop skills. Collaborate with vendor engineering and account manager to address current business or operational issues.

Participate in the development of RFQ/RFPs, lead the adoption of new vendor hardware, and maintain active communication with product teams. Drive technology to meet product and service requirements and coordinate communication with product teams, networking leadership, and PMO to assess gaps, solutions, and needs.

Certain US customer or client‑facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.

Hiring Range in USD from $109,200 – $223,400 per year; may be eligible for bonus and equity.
