- Modest knowledge of I/O behavior and power management
- Modest PC system setup knowledge (HW, OS, drivers, BIOS configuration)
Measurement & Analysis of various PC system devices with an emphasis on platform and device power and performance observations, analysis, & debug; expected requirement includes full stack analysis, e.g., OS enablement, vendor driver enablement, benchmark requirements. Light Project Management for multiple devices & regular status readouts included.
ExpectationsA thorough understanding of PC industry standard busses, e.g., PCIe, LPC, USB is required in addition to detailed knowledge of x86 and chipset architectures and Windows OS process/thread analysis tools. Further requirements include a strong understanding of BIOS, OS and Driver interactions at the system and device level. The role requires a self starter with the ability to translate ambiguity into action.
Preferred Experience and EducationBachelors plus 5 years of experience, or Masters plus 3 years of experience is desired;
Experience as a Systems Developer, BIOS/Driver Developer, or Systems Debug Engineer with experience at a computer hardware company working on at least 2 projects from development through bring-up and validation, and supported through the release to production.
