This position is an integral part of the Supply Chain Compliance team which supports Whole Foods suppliers ensuring they meet food safety and quality standards requirements. This role shepherds suppliers through the onboarding process, from invitation to compliance approval, business compliance, and item setup, representing WFM to suppliers and coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues.
Key job responsibilities- Communicate directly with suppliers to explain the onboarding process and assist with compliance activities.
- Explain complex software processes to non‑technical audiences.
- Report progress daily.
- Escalate issues or non‑responsive suppliers.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide feedback on the process.
- Handle intake of new requests from merchandising teams to bring on new suppliers and items.
- Send invitations and welcome packets for FoodLogiQ.
- Support suppliers throughout the onboarding process.
- Input supplier data into business compliance software applications.
- Input supplier data into downstream item setup applications.
- Oversee end‑to‑end supplier onboarding.
- Apply company‑specific procedures and technologies to accomplish tasks.
- Learn and follow best practices.
- Participate as an active team member and offer ideas.
- Use innovative solutions to enhance personal and team work.
- Seek advice when addressing complex problems.
- Engage proactively with customers, internal and external, to understand objectives and issues.
- Troubleshoot and recommend solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2–4 years relevant functional experience.
- Experience providing excellent customer service to a wide range of technical abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and technical aptitude.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in FoodLogiQ software application.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Working knowledge of food labeling and FDA/USDA regulations.
