Data Engineering, Systems Administrator
Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Austin, TX/Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate is skilled in designing and managing multi‑node sharded clusters and replica sets in secure, high‑availability environments.
Rate Range:$55/hour to $60/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities Include
- Design, install, and configure multi‑node Mongo
DB replica sets and sharded clusters on Linux platforms. - Manage Ops Manager setup, including onboarding clusters, performing upgrades, and overseeing groups/projects.
- Implement and maintain security through X509/TLS authentication, SSL key configuration, and access control.
- Automate backup, restore, deployment, and monitoring workflows using Python and shell scripting.
- Perform data migration, cluster upgrades, performance tuning, and query optimization across large‑scale environments.
- Manage cluster operations such as adding/removing nodes, configuring shard keys, and ensuring balanced and efficient data distribution.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6–8 years of hands‑on experience as a Mongo
DB DBA working with replica sets, sharded clusters, and secure enterprise environments. - Strong expertise in Mongo
DB Ops Manager, including upgrades, cluster onboarding, and environment management. - Proven ability to implement enterprise‑grade security using X509/TLS authentication and SSL configurations across Mongo
DB deployments.

Pay Details:$55.00 to $60.00 per hour
