PurposeProvide professional project planning, installation, integration, maintenance and repair of electronic security systems and additional types of electronic system components. Acts as an essential member of the UL certified Alarm Service Company (ASC); coordinates functions, tasks and planning factors across the ARL:
UT organization, including campus staff, commercial vendors, and various government agencies and sponsors.
- Plan, design, diagram, layout, coordinate construction support and install, test and maintain electronic security systems and related equipment, software and other applications.
- Act as Systems Administrator for unclassified and classified security system hardware and software applications.
- Diagnose problems, implement fixes and coordinate broader solutions with key stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to security personnel on operation, maintenance, upgrade and repair or replacement of the systems and equipment.
- Develop and maintain documentation of schematics, designs, reports, and CSA certifications for UL alarm systems, access control systems, video surveillance equipment and video management systems.
- Train ARL users on the proper use and function of these systems and support alarm service technicians on troubleshooting and repair or replacement issues.
- Support 24/7 availability for response to repair alarm system failures and malfunctions to UL, DCSA, ARL and sponsor standards.
- Install, maintain and repair new and existing video monitoring cameras.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with surveillance cameras and video management systems.
- Configure and operate Digital Video Recorders (DVR) for recording, retrieving and archiving video records and events.
- Support GSA Certified technicians for the ARL:
UT Key and Lock Control Program, performing maintenance, key creation, destruction and documentation on high security mechanical and electronic locks. - Supervise and support design and installation of upgrades and extensions to security and building systems.
- Maintain, update and manage access control, badging and visitor records and archive.
- Assist in installation and maintenance of security-related systems and devices such as vehicle gate operations, traffic sensing loop controllers, intercom systems, electronic locks for secure doors, and high security locksets.
- Perform other related functions as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Five years of project management experience.
- GSA Lock master Certification, Kaba Mas X10 Installation and Operation Certification and LSI LKM 10K Certification, or ability to achieve within 12 months of hire.
- Seven years of related physical security experience.
- Knowledge of industry-leading alarm equipment, CCTV systems, video management systems, access control systems, and proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to prioritize duties.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Seven years of related experience.
- At least three years of experience in industrial security.
- At least five years of journey-level experience in the installation, repair, maintenance and operation of building electronic security systems.
- Advanced technical knowledge with alarm equipment, CCTV equipment, locks and access control systems and equipment; journey-level locksmith experience.
- Electronic Security Systems knowledge of platforms such as Access N Site, DMP, Lenel, Genetec, Verint, Axis, Hanwha Vision, Pelco, Bosch, HID, FarPoint and exacq
Vision VMS. - Experience with programming languages such as Python, Visual Basic, HTML, CSS, Java, C and C++; contract oversight experience with systems integrators.
- Database management experience with SQL, SSIS, SSMS.
- Industrial Security Professional (ISP) Certification.
- ASIS Physical Security Professional Certification, or ability to earn within 24 months.
- CDSE Exterior Security Lighting Course completion.
