The Service Now Developer is responsible for developing, configuring, and customizing Service Now applications. This role requires strong technical acumen and effective collaboration in an Agile development environment.
Key Responsibilities- Implement client-side and server-side configurations, including business rules, UI policies, and scripted REST APIs
- Design, develop, and maintain Service Now workflows supporting Finance and Source-to-Pay processes, including purchase requisitions, vendor onboarding, invoice routing, and approval workflows
- Design and implement workflows using Service Now ITSM and ITOM product suites and Flow Designer
- Execute technical solutions defined by architects and process engineers while minimizing technical debt
- Deliver update sets and support release management aligned with Agile methodologies
- Develop and maintain Service Now App Engine applications, Work spaces, and Dashboards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address implementation tasks and ensure project alignment
- Conduct Service Now upgrades, patching, regression testing, and remediation
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
- Proven experience developing in Service Now with a strong understanding of its scripting languages and framework
- Strong knowledge of Service Now core architecture, ITSM, and ITOM product suites
- Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Service Now workflows supporting Finance and Source-to-Pay processes, including purchase requisitions, vendor onboarding, invoice routing, and approval workflows
- Hands‑on experience with workflow configuration, Flow Designer, and automation tools in Service Now
- Experience working in Agile development environments, participating in sprints and iterative cycles
- Familiarity with Service Now App Engine, Work spaces, and Dashboards
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in technical documentation
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD) or other relevant certifications
- Experience with integrating Service Now with external systems using APIs and web services
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices
