You listen and deliver what is most helpful for the customer. You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem‑solving key technical issues and liaise with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.
As a Platform Customer Engineer (CE) for Telco, Media, Entertainment, and Gaming (TMEG), you partner with technical sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You serve as the customer’s primary technical partner and trusted advisor, engaging in technical‑led conversations to understand their business challenges. You troubleshoot technical questions and roadblocks, engage in proofs of concepts and demos, and architect cross‑pillar cloud solutions that solve these business challenges.
You drive the technical win and define delivery and consumption plans. Using your business acumen and presentation skills, you engage with technical and business leaders and present solutions on Google Cloud.
In this role you focus on identifying, pursuing, and winning new business workloads and driving engagement within existing ones. You leverage a breadth of technical expertise, spanning infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data analytics, and more, blending business expertise and market knowledge to prove the value of the Google Cloud portfolio.
SalaryThe US base salary range for this full‑time position is $127,000–$184,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Responsibilities- Develop and own the technical account plan and strategy, supporting targeted business motions.
- Combine sales, programming, and solutions architecture expertise to demonstrate the value of Google Cloud Platform through demos, pilots, and workshops.
- Architect cross‑pillar solutions, drive technical wins, and define initial delivery plans for customers; continue to lead the technical engagement in the solution phase.
- Facilitate the post‑sales transition by supporting pricing activities and transferring the final delivery plan to implementation teams.
- Maintain awareness of progress against the delivery plan, providing support to cross‑functional teams during ramp, delivery, migration, or implementation phases.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience with cloud‑native architecture in a customer‑facing or support role.
- Experience with cloud engineering, on‑premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
- Experience engaging with or presenting to technical stakeholders or executive leaders.
- Experience in programming languages, debugging, systems design, prototyping, demos, or customer workshops.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
- Experience selling technical solutions such as infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data management, data analytics, cloud AI, networking, migrations, or security.
- Experience driving the entire business cycle, from defining the delivery plan to transitioning it for execution.
- Experience building technical strategies to uncover new workloads with customers.
- Experience with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and pen‑testing.
- Experience migrating applications and services to cloud platforms.
