Position

Summary

Samsung SDS is looking for an energetic Network Technician for our compressed night shift to support our Network Team at our manufacturing campus in Taylor, TX. This technician will work closely with the Network Team to actively perform network monitoring, provide first‑level troubleshooting to network issues, handle escalations, communicate with internal teams about alerts and issues, participate in network issue resolution as needed, perform network audits and occasionally support the network team for project execution during night change windows.

We are looking for someone who can follow SOPs, has the right work attitude, is willing to help others, has a sense of responsibility, passion for networks and a desire to learn. The technician will adhere to all Samsung policies, follow procedures and be flexible with schedule per job demands.

Schedule:

7:00 pm – 7:00 am Sunday, Monday, Tuesday; every other Saturday with occasional day shift support per business needs. Technician must live within an hour from North Taylor, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Proactive network monitoring and first‑level support to network incidents for night shift
  • Work proactively with Network Engineers and Cable Technicians on incident prevention and service restoration
  • Support the Network Team with lab setups, device OS upgrades, new device configuration, network audits and other small projects as needed
  • Configure network equipment and replace faulty equipment under guidance of the Network Team
  • Actively participate as a buddy check for network engineers during night change windows
  • Create vendor support cases and follow up to process RMAs
  • Provide occasional extended hours support during high‑project seasons and during site maintenance days
  • Respond to incidents within SLA
  • Follow SOPs, create reports as requested, update management systems and effectively communicate with team members and management
  • Create daily pass‑down report
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of Network Help Desk or Network Technician experience
  • Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA A+ certification
  • Experience with VLANs, subnetting, IP addresses, Ethernet cables, fiber optic cables, SSH, Telnet, trace route, optical transceivers, hubs, switches
  • Live within 1 hour of Taylor, Texas
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Ability to work well within a team and mentor other network technicians
  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Can lift equipment up to 40 lb and wear a complete cleanroom smock inside an electronic semiconductor facility
  • Eligible to work in the US for any employer without restrictions and based in the continental US
Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNA certification or 3 years experience in a network technician role
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Experience with switch configuration, IP subnetting and network troubleshooting
