Job 131967 - System Administrator, Austin, TX Responsibilities
The System Administrator is responsible for installing, supporting, and maintaining servers and other systems, planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations. You may perform data backups and disaster recovery operations as well as diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.

You are technically inclined with a strong desire to learn new skills. You have solid systems administration skills in a production environment in a Windows and Redhat environment. DesiredSkills and Experience
- Strong experience administering systems in a production environment
- Hypervisor administration (VMware 4.1+, Hyper‑V)
- Understand storage networks (e.g. EMC, HP, Hitachi, and Dell) iSCSI or FC. RAID levels and drive configurations
- Familiar with Linux (Redhat/Debian) and Windows (Server 2008 R2, Server 2012)
- Security
- Active Directory/LDAP
- Firewalls
- SSL and certificate management
- Leveraged scripting languages e.g. Bash, Power Shell, TCL
- Experience with centralized log management and collection (Splunk)
- Utilized monitoring systems such as Solar Winds Orion, Nagios
- Familiar with change/incident management process and tools (ITIL a plus)
- Backup and Recovery techniques (Comm Vault Simpana a plus)
- Basic networking experience
- Operated F5 LTM devices
- PCI or SSAE
16 compliance background - Implemented/Operated cloud systems such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure
- Executed automation techniques e.g. Puppet, Chef or SALT
- Understand complex networking
- Understand SQL Server and MySQL databases
- Only Austin, TX based candidates will be considered
- 5+ years’ experience administering systems in a production environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent problem solving skills.
