Data, Analytics & Artificial IntelligenceIncline Insurance Group is seeking a highly motivated AI Engineering Intern to support the development and implementation of AI-powered tools and workflows across the organization. This role provides hands‑on experience building and deploying real-world AI solutions that enhance business operations, analytics, and decision‑making.
About the Data, Analytics & AI FunctionIncline's Data, Analytics & AI function is responsible for advancing the company's data capabilities and integrating artificial intelligence into core business processes. The team partners with finance, underwriting, and operations to identify opportunities for automation, insight generation, and product innovation.
What You’ll DoThe AI Engineering Intern will work closely with leadership and cross‑functional teams to design, test, and iterate on AI‑driven applications, with a focus on practical implementation and measurable business impact.
AI Development & Prototyping- Design, develop, and iterate on AI‑powered tools and prototypes using large language models (LLMs), APIs, and modern frameworks.
- Build and test applications that improve internal workflows and business processes.
- Contribute to prompt engineering, model evaluation, and experimentation.
- Evaluate emerging AI models, tools, and platforms for potential business application.
- Benchmark performance and document findings to support technology decisions.
- Stay current with developments in AI/ML and generative AI.
- Partner with finance, insurance, and analytics teams to identify automation and insight opportunities.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Present demos, findings, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Document technical architectures, processes, and implementation decisions.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practices.
We're seeking a technically curious and motivated student who is eager to build real‑world AI applications and learn in a fast‑paced environment.
Education- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python; familiarity with JavaScript/Type Script is a plus.
- Experience working with APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and version control (Git).
- Demonstrated experience with AI/ML, LLMs, or generative AI through coursework or personal projects.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Self‑directed learner with curiosity for emerging technologies.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Experience with frameworks such as Lang Chain, OpenAI API, or similar tools.
- Exposure to data engineering concepts (ETL, pipelines, vector databases).
- Interest in insurance, finance, or risk modeling applications of AI.
This role is based in Austin, TX and operates within a hybrid work model.
