DescriptionTGTG is seeking a Project Manager to support digital transformation within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Financial Services Center.
Within the FSC, the Financial Technology Service (FTS) is responsible for all Information Technology including requirements analysis and sizing, backlog management, scrum team governance, incremental/sprint planning, business value, dependency management, risk and impact analysis, scheduling, budget vs actual labor reporting, configuration management, testing, infrastructure operations, application modernization, cyber security, process improvement, and Agile Release Train orchestration.
FTS's IT products address a broad array of VA's enterprise requirements including timekeeping and payroll; accounting; financial reporting and auditing; healthcare claims processing; accounts payable and payment processing; employee travel and charge card; employee relocation; financial data analytics; and financial integration.
This role can be performed in Austin, TX or fully remote.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide project leadership in all aspects of planning, preparation, coordination, and execution of multiple projects and anticipate the of needs as driven by project work plans.
- Independently manage resources and be able to deliver all components of basic and stand‑alone projects.
- Plan client meetings by anticipating needs as driven by the work plan, coordinate meetings with key users, develop data requests and document key questions to be answered throughout the engagement.
- Produce project documentation, research briefs, meeting materials, analysis, graphics, best practice presentations, benchmark info and interim and final deliverables.
- Create meaningful relationships with clients.
- Create work plans including project staffing, project approach, and resource requests to be reviewed with clients and Executives.
- Participate in proposal response and pursuit presentation development.
- 8+ years of consulting and/or project management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to rapidly prioritize competing requirements.
- Ability to understand and simplify customer requirements.
- Ability to communicate end user feedback to technical and design leads.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven knowledge of industry standards.
- Ability to travel onsite in Washington, DC.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Agile and scrum methodologies aligned with Veteran Focused Integration Process (VIP)
- Familiarity with Process Improvement/Process Design practices, such as:
- Six Sigma
- Lean
- Total Quality Management
- Theory of Constraints
- Government Policies and Procedures related to IT implementation.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast‑paced, rapidly evolving environment.
- Strategic thinker with a drive to get all types of work done and a high attention to detail.
- Excellent ability to communicate across all mediums and settings, superior consulting abilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial and operational modeling, capital planning models, healthcare staffing and workforce models.
- Knowledge of military and Veteran health care populations.
- PMP preferred.
