Are you an experienced QA Automation Engineer looking for an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact technology initiative? We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer Automated 3 to join a dynamic team supporting critical software development and testing efforts for a Texas state agency. This hybrid opportunity offers the chance to work on complex projects while collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.
Position Overview
The QA Engineer Automated 3 is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of enterprise applications. This role will focus on creating automation frameworks, developing test scripts, performing functional and regression testing, and supporting the overall software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in QA automation, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of working successfully in collaborative development environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated test scripts that execute testing functions efficiently and accurately.
- Create automation frameworks and testing strategies to support application quality initiatives.
- Prioritize test scenarios and develop execution plans for comprehensive test coverage.
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and test environments.
- Perform functional, application, integration, and regression testing.
- Analyze proposed applications and enhancements for inclusion in regression testing suites.
- Write, review, and debug complex software code as needed to support testing efforts.
- Evaluate existing applications and recommend improvements to increase operational efficiency.
- Prepare detailed analysis documents, process flows, diagrams, and verification procedures.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Interpret business and technical requirements and update testing documentation accordingly.
- Support quality assurance efforts during project implementation and deployment activities.
- Minimum 8 years of experience designing automated tests and developing automation scripts.
- Minimum 8 years of experience prioritizing test scenarios and creating test execution plans.
- Minimum 8 years of experience creating test plans, test cases, test data, and test environments.
- Minimum 8 years of experience performing functional, application, and regression testing.
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Ability to interpret requirements documentation and maintain testing artifacts.
- Experience with analysis, planning, and management reporting functions.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand business processes and operational workflows.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience collaborating directly with business users and stakeholders during testing cycles.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- 2+ years of experience working with the Project Delivery Framework and associated documentation templates.
- Familiarity with enterprise information architecture and information management methodologies.
- Understanding of software architecture, infrastructure components, and emerging technology environments.
- Competitive pay rate of $61.44 per hour
