Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - 3 days remote, 2 days onsite: Wednesdays & Fridays)
Duration: July 1, 2026 - August 31, 2026 (2 months, potential extension)
Rate: $90 - $100/hour
Work Authorization: Local candidates only (must reside in Texas)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Lead 3 to support a Technical Project Manager in delivering a high-impact data engineering and AI adoption program. This role requires a senior-level professional with strong leadership, technical project experience, and the ability to coordinate across business, engineering, and AI stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading complex enterprise data initiatives, strong project management expertise, and a proven ability to work in cross-functional environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the planning and execution of complex technical projects in data, analytics, and cloud environments
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including data engineers, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders
  • Manage project lifecycle activities including:
    • Requirements gathering and business analysis
    • Project planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking
    • Risk identification and mitigation
    • Status reporting and stakeholder communication
  • Develop and maintain project documentation (charters, plans, schedules, and reports)
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical delivery
  • Track deliverables and manage dependencies across teams and vendors
  • Support implementation of data platforms, pipelines, and AI/ML initiatives
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business communications
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise standards, security, and compliance requirements
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience leading technical projects in data, analytics, or cloud environments
  • 10+ years of experience with:
    • Data architecture, modeling, and data warehousing
    • Business intelligence, big data, and enterprise analytics
  • Strong experience in healthcare data initiatives (FHIR, HL7, CCDA preferred)
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Project scope definition, scheduling, and delivery
    • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
    • Managing cross-functional teams and complex timelines
  • Strong communication skills with experience working with executive stakeholders
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as:
    • Jira
    • Azure Dev Ops
    • MS Project or Smartsheet
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and enterprise systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
  • PMP Certification required (must be listed on resume; proof may be requested)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in regulated environments (healthcare, compliance, data governance)
  • Additional certifications such as PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Understanding of SDLC, IT processes, and enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Strong consulting, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience with AI/ML, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives
  • Cloud or architecture certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, TOGAF)
Work Environment & Requirements
  • Hybrid schedule:
    • 3 days remote / 2 days onsite (Austin, TX)
  • Normal business hours:
    Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required
  • No travel reimbursement provided (all expenses at candidate/vendor cost)
  • Must be currently located in Texas (no relocation candidates accepted)
