  • 5+ years - Experience writing detailed functional and technical documentation
  • 5+ years - Experience performing cost/benefit analysis for system solutions
  • 5+ years - Experience documenting input/output requirements, data flows, and reporting formats
  • 5+ years - Experience with Azure Dev Ops, including backlog management and wire framing
  • 5+ years - Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • 5+ years - Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • 5+ years - Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • 5+ years - Knowledge of IT industry trends and ability to apply them to business solutions
  • 5+ years - Knowledge of system architecture concepts (applications, infrastructure, data)

    Summary:
  • Serves as a senior-level Business Systems Analyst responsible for understanding business objectives, identifying solutions, and improving system functionality.
  • Works closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to analyze, design, test, and implement system enhancements.
  • Performs cost/benefit analysis, evaluates system capabilities, and ensures solutions align with organizational standards and constraints.
  • Acts as a key liaison throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring effective communication and high-quality deliverables.

    Responsibilities:

    Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering (30%)
  • Conduct detailed requirements gathering sessions with non-technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Analyze current business processes, identify gaps, and recommend system improvements.
  • Develop use cases, process flows, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for system development.
  • Evaluate alternative solutions and perform cost/benefit analysis.

    Design & Standards Compliance (5%)
  • Ensure system design and enhancements comply with HHSC and DIR standards.
  • Review system capabilities, specifications, and constraints to assess feasibility.

    Testing & Quality Assurance (25%)
  • Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and test data.
  • Validate system functionality, identify defects, and support debugging efforts.
  • Ensure applications meet quality, performance, and maintainability standards.

    Communication & Reporting (25%)
  • Provide regular status updates on enhancement progress and issue resolution.
  • Communicate critical system issues to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, DBAs, and project managers.
  • Present technical and functional information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain updates in ticketing systems (e.g., Azure Dev Ops).

    Knowledge Transfer & Documentation (15%)
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams and workflows.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing to prevent single points of failure.
  • Support training and onboarding through documentation and group sessions.
  • Recommend implementation strategies and improvements to leadership.
