The IBM Technical Support team is adding a support engineer to focus on specific customers in a technical account manager position with a background in Linux storage system administration and Open Source Ceph.
In this role, you will be focused on a small subset of Ceph customers and will be responsible for delivering an outstanding customer support experience for these customers.
You will support these customers through support incidents, product documentation issues, security issues and updates, upgrade issues/questions, and general product and use case queries.
You will grow to know the customers and their specific workloads and environments to ensure a white‑glove experience for these customers.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Technical Support Professional specializing in Ceph Storage, you will provide services to clients in support of the Ceph Storage software solutions. In the Technical Account Manager (TAM) role you will:
- Technical advisor for the customer that needs help planning and deploying IBM Software successfully. TAMs serve as a consistent single point of contact for the customer as their technology needs evolve.
- TAMs partner with the customer to resolve potential problems before they occur, minimizing disruption and freeing the customer to focus on their key business challenges. TAMs help guide and advise technology strategy, mobilizing an extended team that will help the customer get the most out of their IBM products and solutions.
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
Preferred EducationBachelor's Degree
Required Technical and Professional Expertise- A background with Linux system administration through the CLI with at least 3 years experience.
- Software defined storage experience at least 2 years.
- Open Source Ceph project administration and debugging experience at least 2 years.
- Linux system administration through the CLI with at least 5 years experience.
- Software defined storage experience at least 3 years.
- Open Source Ceph project administration and debugging experience at least 3 years.
- Experience in handling customer escalations and managing customer issues.
- Experience in project management.

CompensationProjected minimum salary: $131,000 per year. Projected maximum salary: $226,000 per year.
