BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY

Performs moderately complex (journey-level) computer systems and multimedia audio/visual equipment support work. Work involves providing customer support for agency information technology systems and operating automated office equipment in a stand‑alone, network, or mainframe environment. Reports to the Director of Distributive Learning. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

WORK HOURS:

Monday and#8211;
Thursday, 10 hours a day, 40 hours a week.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor and maintain TMDand#8217;s IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Enforce cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive data, systems, and communications.
  • Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain the integrity of network configurations, access controls, and endpoint protections.
  • Support disaster recovery and data backup procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with state and federal IT security standards.
  • Document infrastructure changes, incident responses, and system upgrades in accordance with agency policy.
  • Provides customer service and answers user inquiries regarding computer software, hardware operation, and the use and interface of systems and software applications.
  • Set up and monitor video‑teleconferencing systems.
  • Manage the Distributive Learning Reporting and Scheduling System.
  • Provide support and assistance to Distributive Learning Points of Contacts for all classroom locations, requiring travel across the state.
  • Provide assistance in the design, development, and maintenance of various system applications.
  • Develop training manuals and procedures and trains users in the proper use of hardware or software.
  • Install, maintain, move, and assist in testing and upgrading new and existing hardware or software.
  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems, remedial actions taken, and installation activities.
  • Maintain appropriate security controls over software.
  • Set up equipment for customer use and performs or ensures proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • Troubleshoot software and maintains software library and documentation.
  • May assist in the review and recommendation of the procurement and inventory of information resources hardware or software.
  • Maintain records and prepares reports detailing equipment performance and usage.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the work environment and support instructional technology.
  • Attend work regularly and observes approved work hours in accordance with agency state employee policies and procedures handbook.
  • May be required to perform duty in support of national emergencies, disasters and other missions, to include holidays and weekends.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
