SEO/AEO Specialist

Onsite | Austin, TX | Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking an SEO/AEO Specialist to drive organic growth and optimize digital content for both traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven answer platforms. This role will focus on improving search visibility, increasing qualified traffic, and ensuring content is structured to perform across Google, voice search, and AI-powered search experiences.

Responsibilities:

+ Develop and execute SEO strategies across on-page, technical, and content optimization

+ Optimize content for AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), including featured snippets, voice search, and AI-generated search results

+ Conduct keyword research and intent analysis to inform content strategy and prioritization

+ Collaborate with content, marketing, and development teams to implement SEO best practices

+ Perform technical SEO audits (site structure, indexing, page speed, schema markup) and recommend fixes

+ Monitor rankings, traffic, and engagement metrics, and provide actionable insights

+ Optimize existing content for improved visibility, conversions, and SERP features (rich results, FAQs, snippets)

+ Stay current on search algorithm changes, AI search trends, and evolving best practices

Requirements

+ 3+ years of experience in SEO, organic growth, or digital marketing

+ Hands-on experience with on-page, technical, and content SEO strategies

+ Familiarity with AEO concepts, including optimizing for featured snippets, voice search, and AI search tools

+ Strong understanding of keyword intent, content structuring, and search ranking factors

+ Experience analyzing performance data and translating insights into action

+ Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with content, UX, and development teams

Experience using tools, such as:

SEO & Keyword Research: SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Google Keyword Planner

Technical SEO:
Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Google Search Console

Analytics & Reporting:
Google Analytics, Looker Studio

AEO / Content Optimization:
Clearscope, Surfer SEO, Market Muse

AI / Search Tools:
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google Gemini (for content structuring and answer optimization)

CMS Platforms:
Word Press, Webflow, Drupal
