The State of Texas is seeking a highly energetic, proactive, hands‑on Operational AI/ML Engineer to join the Traffic Technology team. This role focuses on building and deploying real‑time computer vision and traffic‑video analytics solutions to improve roadway safety and operational efficiency across Texas.

• Strong hands‑on experience with computer vision
• Real‑time traffic camera video analytics
• Building AI models on video data (Traffic Vision Modules)
• Object detection and localization in images/videos
• Core tools and frameworks:
  OpenCV, YOLO (or similar), Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Python, SQL
• Object detection models: YOLO, Faster R‑CNN, SSD, Retina Net
• Datasets and annotation: COCO, Image Net, custom‑labeled datasets;
  Label Img, CVAT, Roboflow
• Cloud and MLOps: AWS (mandatory), Airflow, MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana

• Real‑time traffic video analytics
• Smart intersections, ITS, or Smart City initiatives
• Designing computer‑vision pipelines for live video streams
• Deploying AI models into production environments

Note:

The position is strictly for Operational AI/ML Engineers;
Generative AI Engineers are not considered.
