Job SummaryThis person will help build a bridge between old and new databases by merging historical data from Siebel, Lodestar and other homegrown systems with the new SAP system. They may also help build internal tools to prepare for the upcoming conversion.
Job DescriptionThe primary purpose of this position is to merge historical data from our current Siebel, Lodestar and other homegrown systems with data from our new SAP system. In addition, the position will help the TX residential business build tools to help us prepare for the upcoming conversion. Responsibilities include creating views, tables and possibly functions that allow query across both datasets;
reviewing existing code to identify frequently used fields; transforming data for merge; reconciling discrepancies and determining equivalent values.
- Expert in writing SQL with minimum 5 years experience.
- Proficient working with Oracle and PL/SQL.
- Experience building applications in Access using Visual Basic for Applications.
- Can work semi‑independently, learn quickly and devise creative solutions to complex problems.
- Can reconcile different methods of storing similar data.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with SQL Server.
- Experience building ASP.NET applications that interact with a database.
- Experience working with Siebel, Lodestar or SAP.
- Experience in the energy industry or other utility‑type services.
Contract period is 3–4 months (could extend depending on need). Candidates must have hard‑core SQL development experience with complex queries on very large data sets (≈30 million records). Prior experience with Oracle and PL/SQL, and optionally ASP.NET or Microsoft Access, is beneficial. The role requires initiative and proactive communication in a fast‑paced environment.
