CAD Engineer (PDK & Cadence Customization)

Austin (Preferred) Ok for other locations as long as the engineer is a good fit. Duration: 6+ months

Job Overview: CAD Engineer/Contractor to support PDK installation, environment setup, and basic Cadence customization activities. The role involves working closely with design teams to ensure smooth tool and PDK integration for ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform PDK installation, configuration, and validation for multiple technology nodes (e.g., TSMC N7/N5/N4, etc.)
• Set up and maintain EDA tool environments, primarily Cadence tools (Virtuoso, Innovus, Tempus, etc.)
• Support basic Cadence customization, including:
  • Environment setup scripts
  • Tool configuration and optimization
  • Flow setup and minor enhancements
• Troubleshoot issues related to:
  • PDK integration
  • Tool setup and licensing
  • Environment/debugging issues
• Work closely with designers to ensure smooth project execution

Preferred

Skills:

• Experience with technology node bring-up or migration
• Exposure to EDA tool customization or automation
• Knowledge of PDK structure, tech files, and runsets
• Experience with TSMC Foundry is a plus.
