Position Overview
The Texas General Land Office is seeking a Senior Web Administrator (Web Administrator V) within the Information Technology Services Department. This senior‑level role performs advanced web design and development work with broad agency impact, shaping practices, defining standards, and addressing the most complex, high‑risk or enterprise‑impact web challenges.

About the RoleThe Web Administrator V is a senior technical authority who leads complex web initiatives supporting public‑facing services, agency communications, and internal operations. The role focuses on high‑impact development, integration, remediation, and architectural initiatives rather than routine maintenance.
Responsibilities- Lead and perform hands‑on implementation of complex, high‑risk or critical web work, including major enhancements, remediations, and cross‑department deliverables.
- Oversee execution of complex web environment operations and integrations, ensuring performance, reliability, and supportability.
- Review implementations for accessibility, security, and regulatory compliance; lead remediation to maintain standards.
- Enforce approved web standards, procedures, and service practices by reviewing work products and driving consistency across deliverables.
- Serve as senior execution‑level point of contact for departments, translating requirements into compliant solutions and coordinating delivery.
- Maintain operational documentation, validate solution readiness, and support knowledge transfer for sustainable delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, web development, or related field; or equivalent professional experience (one year of experience per year of education).
- Position is based in Austin, TX. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to Austin at their own expense.
- At least four years of professional experience in web administration, website management, or web application support.
- Experience administering enterprise web sites and content management systems (CMS) in a complex organization.
- Hands‑on experience with modern web platforms such as Drupal, Word Press, Sitecore, SharePoint, or comparable technologies.
- Experience implementing and maintaining website content, navigation, templates, and user‑facing functionality across multiple properties.
- Experience supporting website modernization initiatives, including platform upgrades, migrations, redesigns, and accessibility improvements.
- Knowledge of web security controls, monitoring processes, and operational support for public‑facing web applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance, availability, compatibility, and user experience issues.
- Familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards.
- Experience with web analytics, SEO, and digital content governance.
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies for site administration.
- Relevant industry certifications in web administration, CMS, accessibility, or digital experience platforms are preferred.
