The Opportunity

We are seeking a driven, tech-forward Research Analyst / Brokerage Liaison to join our Austin, Texas office. This role is designed for someone who can support our Austin Advisors with the full range of brokerage coordination duties while taking a leading role in leveraging data, GIS, and AI to grow the team's business.

This position reports directly to the Austin team of Advisors and works in close coordination with LAO's corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ.

What You’ll Do Brokerage Support
  • Support 2–3 Advisors in growing their business by leveraging data, technology, and AI in day-to-day brokerage activity
  • Assist in the preparation of sales and marketing proposals, broker opinions of value (BOVs), listing agreements, and offering materials
  • Maintain land transaction contracts including listings, letters of intent, and pending contracts
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Austin office and LAO's Scottsdale, AZ corporate headquarters—coordinating with Research, Mapping, Marketing, and Escrow support teams
  • Ensure smooth office operations and perform other coordination and administrative tasks as needed
Research & Data
  • Conduct property research using GIS tools, parcel data, ownership records, and public sources to identify, qualify, and track land opportunities across the Austin market and surrounding regions
  • Maintain LAO's proprietary database of land parcel opportunities in the Austin market, including owner contact information, transaction details, sales history, and supporting documents
  • Prepare and assist with maps of parcels, target areas, and regional corridors using LAO's GIS platform as requested by Advisors
  • Assist in the collection of other market information as requested
Technology & AI
  • Adopt and champion LAO's AI tools and internal technology stack—learning new platforms quickly and helping Advisors get more value from them
  • Leverage emerging AI and data tools to enhance research workflows, prospecting, and business development activities
The Optimal Candidate Will Possess All or Most of the Following:
Professional Qualifications
  • Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a genuine technological aptitude—someone who is excited by data, mapping, and AI tools and wants to learn how they apply to land brokerage
  • Familiarity with—and willingness and enthusiasm to learn and utilize—LAO's AI tools and broader technology stack
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

    Positive work attitude and team-player mentality—outgoing and friendly (this is critical!)
  • Quick study with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience or education in Data Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), GIS, and/or real estate is a strong plus
Technical Skills
  • Experience using GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, Regrid, or similar) and performing property and ownership research
  • Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM; ability to maintain clean, accurate records at scale
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Comfort with Internet search engines and associated AI tools, and the ability to leverage them in research tasks

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • W-2 position with eligibility for annual raises and bonuses
