We're partnering with a venture-backed defense technology startup that's developing next-generation hardware for national security. As the company scales, they're looking for their first Director of IT Infrastructure & Security to build and lead their IT and cybersecurity function.
This is an opportunity to own the environment from the ground up, taking over a newly deployed Microsoft GCC High / Azure Government environment and building the infrastructure required to support a rapidly growing engineering organization.
Key responsibilities- Leading cybersecurity operations, monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response
- Building secure cloud, on-premise, networking, and lab infrastructure
- Implementing and maintaining CMMC and NIST 800-171 technical controls
- Managing IT operations, endpoint management, service delivery, and disaster recovery
- Managing external consultants and vendors while building an internal Infrastructure & Security team
- Microsoft GCC High and Azure Government
- Microsoft security technologies including Entra , Intune, Defender, and Sentinel
- CMMC, NIST 800-171, and secure defense environments
- Defense, aerospace, or other ITAR-regulated organizations
- Building or scaling IT infrastructure within start-up / high-growth companies
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building secure, scalable infrastructure while remaining technically involved.
