TGTG is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to support digital transformation within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Financial Services Center.
Within the FSC, the Financial Technology Service (FTS) is responsible for all Information Technology including requirements analysis and sizing, backlog management, scrum team governance, incremental/sprint planning, business value, dependency management, risk and impact analysis, scheduling, budget vs actual labor reporting, configuration management, testing, infrastructure operations, application modernization, cyber security, process improvement, and Agile Release Train orchestration.
FTS's IT products address a broad array of VA's enterprise requirements including timekeeping and payroll; accounting; financial reporting and auditing; healthcare claims processing; accounts payable and payment processing; employee travel and charge card; employee relocation; financial data analytics; and financial integration.
This role can be performed in Austin, TX or fully remote.
Primary Responsibilities- Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events.
- Track's problems and reports on errors that are identified.
- Must manage the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
- Write or assist in the development of test plans and test procedures.
- Escalate the issues about project requirements (Software, Hardware, Resources) to Project Manager / Sr. Test Manager.
- Develop the test plan for the tasks, dependencies and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality and obtain stakeholder support for this plan.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or Other Engineering or Technical Discipline is required. (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.).
- 5 years related experience required.
- Experience working with developers, end users and organizations to create test plans and test scripts.
- Must have experience with configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing.
- Must have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialized environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Experience supporting large Cabinet-level federal agencies, ideally the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
- Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
- Excellent ability to communicate across most mediums and settings.
- Knowledge of military and Veteran populations.
