Hiring a Linux Systems Administrator with Red Hat and Chef experience for our client, a software company that enables enterprises and solution providers to become IT service brokers. Their flagship software solution is the most effective and production-hardened Cloud Services Brokerage and Management Solution in the market.

As a Linux Systems Administrator with Red Hat and Chef experience in their Austin, TX based site you will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our infrastructure by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing our development and production environments.

• Provide installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems software and related infrastructure.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.
• Reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups, both internally and externally.
• Troubleshoot Linux, Apache, Java, JBOSS, OpenDS/LDAP and MySQL services. Knowledge of all layers of the OSI model, most importantly the network (layer
  3) and application (layer
  7).
• Implement automated approaches for system administration tasks. Leverage our self-hosted Chef deployment.

• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS, including repository management, system patching, and CLI configuration/administration.
• Knowledge about Dev Ops Tools supporting Continuous Delivery – Chef, Bamboo, Vagrant, GIT, Maven, and Ant.
• Expertise in various architect and support functions for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Cloud environments – AWS, Rackspace, Savvis, Terremark, and GoGrid.
• Experience in networking admin/design of VPN implementations using OpenVPN/Open Swan, LAN/WAN/Firewall configuration on Cisco routers.
• Experience installing and configuring application servers, e.g. Apache, Tomcat, Jboss and database/directory servers (MySQL, OpenDS).
• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related areas.
