Senior Platform Engineer (Storage)

• Managing, deploying and maintaining large‑scale distributed Ceph storage solutions.
• Ensuring high availability and performance by troubleshooting, debugging, tuning and continuously improving data integrity and reliability.
• Developing and evolving processes and best practices to maximize performance and cost efficiency.
• Staying current with Ceph/Storage developments and experimental features, sharing findings, and consulting on architecture changes.
• Analyzing storage trends and participating in capacity planning.

• 5+ years of experience managing and administering Ceph Storage, object, and block storage.
• Experience with Linux system administration, networking, configuration and deployment.
• Hands‑on experience with industry‑standard storage protocols.
• Strong Kubernetes skills.
• Proven mentoring ability for junior team members.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Ceph & Rook expertise managing storage clusters with deep understanding of architecture and operations.
• Designing and implementing large‑scale globally distributed storage systems.
• Scripting and automation in Bash, Python or Go.
• Experience supporting engineers in integrating systems with core Kubernetes components.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and deployment tooling such as Terraform and Ansible.

• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Experience with Kubernetes development including operators and controllers.
• Collaboration in distributed team across multiple time zones.
• High energy and customer‑first mindset.
• Self‑starter who shares knowledge of work with others.
• Contribution to open source software is a plus.

Estimated base pay range: $177,300—$265,900 USD.
