On‑site(Must live in AustinTX area)

I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
  • Perform highly advanced managerial tasks related to QA and testing activities as well as analysis and testing tasks related to software development and configuration.
  • Responsible for activities during all phases of the system development life cycle including analyzing, diagnosing and resolving reported software problems and troubleshooting system issues for internal and external clients.
  • Define and review the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy specific to TDLR modernization projects (guidance to team during "Soft UAT" as well) and align resources and Subject Matter Experts (SME) for all review and testing activities.
  • Coordinate sprint review feedback with Vendor staff and business SMEs.
  • Review of Test Cases received from Vendor with SMEs and suggest edits.
  • Work with business users and SMEs to create and update test cases, perform testing, and provide test results/reports (i.e. success/pass, defects, issues/concerns, etc.).
  • Act as the main point of contact between IT Division, business users, and Vendor.
  • Lead triage efforts and the tracking, prioritizing, and managing of defects.
  • Review defects for themes, conduct root cause analysis, and suggest improvements.
  • Provide and review weekly updates on UAT progress and results.
  • Provide testing‑related project status updates, progress on defects, and check progress on requirement traceability and coverage.
  • Ensure UAT exit criteria are met and obtain final sign‑off from the business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Oversee user acceptance, performance, accessibility, interface, security, and data conversion testing
  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Manage, perform, monitor, and report on test activities on modern technology platforms
  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Review, update and create test strategy, suites, and cases
  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Document and report test results, data conversion and integration issues/concerns, and problem incident reports (PIRs)/defects statusts (PIRs)/defect status
  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Provide training and mentoring of testing team members
  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Coordinate scheduling of testing staff, test activities, and meetings
  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Experience with test tools such as Jira, Test Savvy, JUnit, Selenium, Microfocus UFT, SQL, etc.
  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Experience and understanding of the full software life cycle with specific emphasis on the testing discipline. Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Excellent leadership, communication, organization, planning, and problem‑solving skills
  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 4 Required Experience with Performance monitoring tools such as JProfiler, JMeter, etc.

  • Years Required/Preferred Experience 4 Preferred Experience working directly with a Texas state agency as an employee or contractor in a QA Test Manager role

Austin, TX 78723 . Program will only allow candidates who areLOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA(Within 50-mile radius).

Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed. The worker may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends, evenings and holidays, as requested.
