Are you an experienced Project Planner who thrives on turning complex programmes into clear, actionable delivery plans? Do you enjoy analysing critical paths, challenging assumptions, and providing the insights that keep major projects on track? We're looking for a highly organised and analytical Project Planner to support Project Falcon, a large-scale transformation programme s is an exciting opportunity to work alongside senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and programme leadership, ensuring robust planning, scheduling, and forecasting across a complex, multi-workstream environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As Project Planner, you'll be the expert behind the programme schedule, bringing visibility, structure, and insight to critical delivery activities. You'll be responsible for:
- Planning & Schedule Management
- Owning and maintaining the integrated project schedule for your area of Project Falcon.
- Developing and integrating detailed workstream plans across business, technology, data, testing, change and readiness activities.
- Managing task sequencing, dependencies, constraints, calendars, milestones and baseline controls.
- Updating progress and forecasts using information provided by delivery leads.
- Ensuring the programme plan accurately reflects current status and future delivery expectations.
Critical Path Analysis & Risk Management
Monitoring critical and near-critical paths across the programme.
Identifying schedule risks, slippage and dependency conflicts before they become issues.
Analysing recovery options and recommending practical solutions.
Assessing the impact of risks, issues and change requests on programme timelines.
Dependency & Milestone Tracking
Managing key milestones, deliverables and programme commitments.
Facilitating cross-workstream dependency reviews.
Highlighting missing updates, unrealistic forecasts and unresolved scheduling conflicts.
Ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility of delivery commitments and deadlines.
Governance & Reporting
Producing planning insights and schedule reporting for governance forums, assurance reviews and stage gates.
Supporting RAID management through schedule impact analysis.
Maintaining planning records, baselines, assumptions and approved changes.
Presenting complex planning information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
Contributing to planning best practice, reporting standards and process improvements.
Participating in delivery forums to capture decisions, progress and planning impacts.
Supporting programme administration activities in line with PMO and Finance procedures.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from planners who combine technical scheduling expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills. You'll bring:
- Proven experience as a Project Planner, Planning Analyst, Scheduler, or similar role within complex projects or programmes.
- Demonstrable expertise in:
Detailed project scheduling Critical path analysis Dependency management Milestone tracking Baseline control Schedule risk analysis Recovery planning and scenario modelling - Experience working with recognised planning tools such as:
Microsoft Project Primavera P6 Or equivalent scheduling platforms - Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities, including advanced spreadsheet skills.
- The confidence to challenge assumptions, forecasts and delivery plans constructively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable Experience
It would be advantageous if you have experience within:
- Business transformation programmes
- Enterprise systems implementations
- Multi-supplier delivery environments
- Manufacturing, logistics, construction materials or other operationally intensive industries
Qualifications
Degree qualified in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Project planning or project management certifications such as APM, PRINCE2, PMP, Microsoft Project or Primavera are desirable.
