Job DescriptionWith locations all over the world, we’re a fast-paced, growing Services Company with tons of upside. We keep growing... and growing... and growing; hence, the need for someone like you. We’re currently looking to hire a Platform Engineer to support our IPcenter toolset!
In A Typical Day You Will:- Install and configure Linux hosts (generally, but not limited to, Scientific Linux)
- Architect, deploys and manages virtualization solutions through VMware, Xen, Amazon VC2 and other virtualization technologies
- Develops capacity/datacenter plans using storage/ backup tools such as Net Backup, Net App and EMC
- Works on Cloud solutions
- Diagnoses and troubleshoot issues in the platform
- Troubleshoot performance issues within the application, web and database tiers
- Resolve escalations received through ticketing system, emails, and/or phone calls in a timely manner
- 3+ years of experience in Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills
- 3+ years of experience working with a NOC environment.
- Very strong Linux/Unix administration & troubleshooting skills
- TCP/IP and basic networking
- Configuring Apache and Tomcat servers
- Create and debug MySQL queries
- Understanding of DNS and how to configure/ troubleshoot it
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment
