OPPORTUNITY:We are looking for a MQ & CICS Systems Engineer/Systems Administrator for a six (6) month hybrid contract role in Austin, TX.
OVERVIEW:We are seeking a highly skilled IBM MQ Systems Engineer / Administrator responsible for the health, performance, and maintenance of enterprise messaging, CICS transaction servers, and DB2 database integration environments.
Core Focus:
Middleware administration, system maintenance, and version upgrades.
PAY RATE:
- $65-$80 per hour
- Maintenance:
Monitor system health, tune performance, and resolve operational issues for IBM MQ queues and channels. - Upgrades:
Plan, test, and execute software patches, fix packs, and major version upgrades for IBM MQ, CICS, and DB2. - Integration:
Support CICS region connectivity and DB2 data sharing groups interacting with IBM MQ. - Security:
Implement and audit SSL/TLS certificates, queue-manager security, and user access controls. - Automation:
Write and update scripts for routine administrative tasks and system recovery procedures.
- Experience:
Minimum five (5) years administering IBM MQ in enterprise environments. - Skills:
Hands-on knowledge of CICS transaction server management and DB2 database connectivity. - Platform:
Strong background in z/OS or distributed Linux/Unix/Windows systems. - Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an on-call rotation.
