Senior Business Systems Analyst – Enterprise Healthcare Systems
Location: Austin, TX Work Setting: Onsite – Local Candidates Only Employment Type: 10–12 Month Contract Pay Rate: Up to $85/hour The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to support a large-scale modernization initiative involving the development and implementation of a new Medicaid application
.
This is a senior-level role for someone who can bridge the gap between business needs, technology teams, project delivery, and external vendors
. You will help ensure requirements are clearly documented, systems are properly tested, project risks are addressed, and new functionality is successfully delivered.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting large, complex enterprise systems
, particularly within healthcare, Medicaid, or Health and Human Services environments
.
- Gather, analyze, and document complex business and system requirements.
- Work directly with external technology vendors to coordinate projects, service requests, deliverables, and priorities.
- Create and review requirements, traceability documentation, test cases, system designs, and technical specifications.
- Analyze system issues, troubleshoot problems, and work with technical teams to identify solutions.
- Help manage project scope, system acceptance, implementation, and deployment activities.
- Coordinate and monitor System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Identify project risks, roadblocks, and dependencies and help develop mitigation plans.
- Evaluate policies, procedures, and business rules to understand how they affect applications and system functionality.
- Support integrations and functionality across multiple enterprise applications.
- Develop processes and documentation that create consistency across the overall solution.
- Partner with business stakeholders, developers, technical teams, and vendors throughout the system development lifecycle.
Candidates should bring 8+ years of experience in the following areas:
- Business and systems analysis within large, complex technology environments.
- Coordinating with external vendors on technology projects, deliverables, and service requests.
- Developing and reviewing business requirements, requirements traceability, test cases, design documents, and technical specifications
. - Analyzing systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting technology implementations.
- Managing or supporting project scope, system acceptance, deployment, SIT, and UAT
. - Identifying project risks and developing strategies to address or prevent them.
- Analyzing Health and Human Services or healthcare policies, procedures, and standards and translating them into system or business requirements.
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Azure Dev Ops (ADO) or TFS for requirements and development lifecycle management.
- Agile or SAFe environments.
- Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Microsoft Copilot.
- Enterprise application architecture, including user interfaces, data, infrastructure, and system integrations.
- Business rules engines and workflow/orchestration technologies.
- Cloud-based enterprise applications.
- Medicaid, CHIP, or other Health and Human Services systems and processes.
- Portfolio or project management tools supporting large technology initiatives.
You may be a strong fit if you are a seasoned Business Systems Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Technical Business Analyst who has worked on large enterprise application implementations or modernization projects.
You should be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams and be able to take ownership of requirements, documentation, testing, vendor coordination, risk management, and project delivery activities.
This position requires onsite work in Austin, Texas
. Candidates must currently be local to the Austin area, as relocation candidates are not being considered for this opportunity.
