The Command Center Specialist is responsible for monitoring and supporting day-to-day operations across Core Scientific’s data center environments, ensuring timely incident response, operational awareness, and accurate communication of critical events. This role monitors operational dashboards, infrastructure alerts, incidents, service requests, and facility conditions across HPC and digital asset mining environments while maintaining detailed documentation and escalation records. The Command Center Specialist serves as a central coordination point for operational activities by communicating with cross-functional teams, supporting incident management processes, and ensuring adherence to established operational procedures.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational continuity, monitoring facility and system health, and escalating issues appropriately during normal and emergency operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced 24/7 environment, demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while supporting operational excellence across the organization.
- Monitor operational data, incidents, and system alerts while maintaining accurate communication and documentation across Command Center operations
- Monitor operational and business-impacting metrics related to power utilization, system performance, and digital asset operations
- Support operational incidents, service requests, and change activities across data center environments in accordance with established response and escalation procedures
- Escalate operational incidents, system alarms, and critical events in accordance with established operational procedures
- Document operational incidents and coordinate timely communication and escalation with cross-functional teams involved in incident response and recovery efforts
- Maintain accurate incident records, operational logs, and shift documentation to support operational visibility and reporting requirements
- Provide timely operational updates and situational communications to leadership and cross-functional teams during operational events
- Coordinate with on-site teams during emergency events and operational disruptions to support response activities and maintain operational continuity
- Manage multiple operational tasks, incidents, and escalations simultaneously within a fast-paced 24/7 environment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational gaps, following established procedures, and contributing to SOP enhancements and operational efficiency efforts
- Foster open, respectful, and professional communication both within the team and with coworkers, teammates, and leaders across the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in a related field or 3 years of relevant data center, Command Center, or operational support experience required
- Experience with operational monitoring, incident response, and infrastructure event coordination within a data center or Command Center environment required
- Understanding of data center operations, critical infrastructure environments, and operational support processes preferred
- Understanding of ITIL service delivery concepts, preferred
