Information Governance Analyst

Subscribing to a philosophy of “Active Data Governance”, members of Daman’s Information Governance practice focus on activities that operationalize principles and automate tasks that contribute to managing the integrity and use of our client’s data assets. As an IG Analyst, you will work with Data Stewards and our client’s Information Governance organization to coordinate information sharing standards, guidelines, and agreements. You will consult with stewards and act as a point of contact for data governance activities including the management of data definitions, data elements, and data governance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Develops, documents, and maintains definition, production, usage, classification, and compliance rules across multiple business units to support the enterprise management of data.
• Collaborates with data owners and data custodians to identify and resolve more complex data governance issues in a timely and collaborative manner.
• Supports the development of processes and procedures for Data Governance and Stewardship.
• Supports the analysis and documentation of data capture standards associated with new products.
• Serves as a resource to internal stakeholders
• Documents and records information, decisions, and recommendations made by the Data Governance Council.

• 2+ years experience in the financial and/or insurance industry with data exposure (nice to have)
• 2+ years’ project management and process development experience
• Exposure to data warehousing and management reporting projects/initiatives.
• Works with mathematical concepts such as averages and/or variances.
• Ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Evaluate trends in data or information.
• Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers, and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches.
• Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with a data governance tool such as IBM IGC, Collibra or Alation is nice to have.
• Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Applications, Information Systems or Engineering is required.
