The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing traffic management technologies that span Visa’s private data center and public cloud environments with an emphasis on CDN, DNS, load balancing and proxy solutions.
We are looking for a hands‑on individual with extensive knowledge in traffic management, automation, and infrastructure as code technology including knowledge of applicable cloud native solutions, methodologies, standards, products, and frameworks. The ideal candidate would assist in the definition of the architecture, capturing functional requirements, preparing estimates, and developing technical solutions for Visa’s traffic management technologies.
This role offers the opportunity to combine architecture definition with hands‑on development work as part of providing guidance to project teams on design and deployment related activities.
The successful candidate will work with Operations and Infrastructure, Cybersecurity and Product Development teams to define solutions for application delivery that will enable the use of hybrid cloud infrastructure to meet the challenges of technology, regulatory, security, and competitive conditions. The Lead Network Engineer is a technologist with demonstrated experience and interest in network and application traffic management, public cloud, CDN, cloud native design and application transformation/modernization.
The candidate should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share your knowledge.
Key Responsibilities For
The Role Include
- Senior technology leadership in network engineering, network automation and public cloud environments.
- Contribute to the traffic management strategy for Visa’s Private/Hybrid/Public Cloud adoption including long-term network architecture scenarios in collaboration with stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Collaborate with Cloud, Systems, and Cyber Security Architects to assist in driving our strategy and standards.
- Architect, design, and deliver innovative solutions to enable multi-CDN implementation.
- Develop standard automation templates for deployment of traffic management infrastructure and platform components.
- Use cloud-native approaches for solutions based on business goals, objectives, and requirements, while understanding integration with legacy solutions.
- Design security into all projects and processes for design, implementation, and operational stages.
- Design solutions that are secure, scalable, repeatable, and highly available while efficient.
