Senior Product Security Engineer

As a Senior Product Security Engineer at Pay Pal, you will play a key role in securing 439 million accounts and $1.8 trillion in annual payment volume by designing, building, and operating automated security scanners and developer guardrails across the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with engineering, platform, and security teams to identify and mitigate risks in source code, open source dependencies, secrets, software supply chains, AI/LLM tools, and other developer workflows.

Your work will help make secure development the easiest path for engineers, improving detection quality, remediation ease, and delivery speed.

This role requires 3-5 years of experience in software engineering, application or product security, Dev Sec Ops , or cybersecurity, along with a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Experience with SAST, SCA, secrets detection, software supply chain security, and cloud-native technologies like GCP, Kubernetes, and Terraform is essential. Proficiency in Python, Go, and Bash, as well as familiarity with AI/LLM security considerations, SBOMs, and policy-as-code systems, is highly preferred.

Strong technical communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are required. The position is based in Austin, Texas, with a pay range of $130,500 to $193,600 annually.
