Job Description

Luna Data Solutions has an immediate long-term contract position opening for a Business Systems Analyst resource with our public sector industry client located in Austin, TX.

* This is a hybrid role, in which this resource will work 3 days/week onsite (manager's decision of required days on site) and 2 days/week remote. All candidates must be currently local/close to the Austin, TX area.

Role:
Business Systems Analyst

Key Activities/Responsibilities:

• Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives.
• Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system:
• Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be; summarized, and formats for reports.
• Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program.
• Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business objectives and problems and identifying alternative solutions.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating user requirements, operational procedures, and problems to automate processing and/or to improve existing computer systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience writing detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop and/or modify computer program.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost/benefit analysis of systems and alternatives.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in analyzing and documenting input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reporting.
• Minimum of 5 years of possessing a high level of sound logic and analytical ability.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in highly developed oral and written communications skills.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with a high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others motivate employee and elicit work output.
• Minimum of 5 years of knowledge and understanding of Information Technology industry trends, directions and market experience; ability to relate them to own organization.
• Minimum of 5 years of knowledge of architectural concepts, principles, and tools relevant to infrastructure, information, applications, organizational structure, etc.
• Minimum of 5 years of knowledge of emerging technologies (new to company systems as well as those that are new to the information systems industry).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and document templates.
• Familiarity with company's information architecture and information management methodologies.
• Familiarity with the existing and planned software technology and the global, regional and local software architecture and infrastructure components.
