Quality Assurance Engineer

Salient builds video surveillance and video management software, and we're looking for a QA Engineer to join a team that's actually building AI into its daily workflow, not just talking about it. Our testers use tools like Claude and Copilot to draft, review, and refine test cases, which means less time on repetitive documentation and more time on the testing judgment that actually catches bugs.

• Test our Windows desktop, web, and mobile clients through the full release cycle
• Use AI/LLM tools to draft and refine test cases, then apply your own judgment to validate and improve on them
• Use SQL to validate test results and investigate defects
• Document and track bugs in JIRA and Xray with full traceability
• Work directly with engineering, product, and customer support to resolve issues
• Take on a growing role in shaping how the team uses AI in testing as it evolves

• 2-5 years of professional QA or software testing experience
• Hands-on experience with SQL for test validation
• Real experience using AI/LLM tools in a testing context, not just familiarity with them
• Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
• Genuine interest in growing into a lead or mentor role over time
• Authorized to work in the US. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
