Under the direction of the State Park Division's Planning and Geospatial Resources Director, this position is responsible for geographic information system (GIS) work involving project delivery, ranging from geodatabase design and management to the development of specialized mapping applications that meet Division-wide business needs. This position is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining geospatial data related to the division's Facility Asset Management System (FAMS), the Park Business System (PBS), and Natural and Cultural Resource databases.
Duties require specialized knowledge and skills in GIS database management using ESRI software and technology. Responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for stakeholder training and team development, including the processes, protocols, and structure of GIS applications, data services, and geodatabases. Works as part of a GIS team to support initiatives across division as directed by the Planning and Geospatial Resources Director.
Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Required to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday;
Required to work overtime, as necessary;
Required to perform work outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions;
Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures;
Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays;
May be required to operate a State vehicle;
Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles.

Education:
GIS Analyst II and GIS Analyst III:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree or higher with coursework in GIS or Computer.
Experience:GIS Analyst II:
6 months of professional experience in creating, editing, and/or managing spatial data and/or table structures;
Demonstrated experience providing GIS support for a Facility Asset Management System (or similar software) such as Open Gov, Cartegraph or comparable platforms;
Demonstrated experience providing GIS support for a Park Business Management System (or similar software) such as Aspria or comparable platforms.
GIS Analyst III:
Two years of professional experience in creating, editing, and/or managing spatial data and/or table structures;
One year of professional experience with geodatabase management and mapping application development using ESRI tools and techniques; or similar software.
Licensure:Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid class "C" Texas driver's license.
