Primary Purpose
Handle field appraisal assignments for corporate fleets and insurance clients with an emphasis on automobiles.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Set appointments same day, inspect within 24 hours, and write estimates.
- Write 6 to 10 estimates per day depending on location.
- Ensure proper vehicle teardown.
- Determine repair time allotments and required labor operations.
- Make accurate repair/replace decisions.
- Assess and apply pre‑existing damage; complete accurate total loss evaluations.
- Negotiate agreed price with shop decision maker and set a time‑bound expected completion date per client guidelines.
- Review and assess validity of all supplement requests.
- Provide customers with information on vehicle repair costs and the claims/repair process.
- Maintain accurate vehicle repair estimates.
- Negotiate advanced fees for tow, teardown, and storage for total loss vehicles at repair facilities or tow yards.
- Provide extraordinary customer service to all parties involved in the claims process.
Perform other duties as assigned. Assist quality assurance team and be available for desk appraisal work when not in the field.
Qualifications- Education & Licensing
:
Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required); licenses as required, as needed; professional certifications applicable to line of business preferred; 60 days to complete licensing training if required. - Experience
:
Four (4) years of insurance or body shop experience required. - Skills & Knowledge
:
Good technical knowledge of auto appraisals; knowledge of client operations and labor regulations; excellent oral and written communication; PC literate, including Microsoft Office products; analytical and interpretive skills; strong organizational skills; excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; good judgment and discretion; ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities; ability to work in a team environment. - Performance Competencies
: CCC One experience.
Field appraisal position: must manage local territory and schedule work day independently. Requires local travel. Must handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under stress.
Benefits and Pay TransparencyPay range for the jurisdiction: $55,000 - $65,000 annually.
