Affordable Housing Finance Associate (4–7 Years) – Austin, TX
I’m working with a Vault-ranked Am Law 200 firm that is seeking a mid- to senior-level Associate to join its growing Affordable Housing Finance practice in Austin, Texas
. This is a compelling opportunity for an attorney who wants to focus on mission-driven finance work while handling sophisticated transactions on a national platform.
The practice represents institutional lenders in multifamily real estate transactions utilizing federal, state, and local affordable housing programs across the country. The work is substantive, technical, and fast-paced, with consistent deal flow and meaningful responsibility.
Associates in this group are actively involved in transactions from start to finish and work closely with both internal deal teams and clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Representing institutional lenders in affordable housing finance transactions
- Working on multifamily real estate deals utilizing federal, state, and local programs
- Advising on transactions involving Sections 103 and 142(d) and/or Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code
- Assisting with transactions involving Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (experience is a plus)
- Managing multiple matters independently while collaborating closely with team members
Qualifications:
- 4–7 years of affordable housing finance or related transactional experience
- Strong technical fundamentals, including working knowledge of Sections 103, 142(d), and/or 42
- Excellent academic credentials and strong writing, research, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills
- Prior law firm experience required
- Admission to the Texas Bar is required
