The Austin office of Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, LLP seeks an attorney with 2 to 5 years' experience in civil litigation to join the Professional Liability section of the Firm. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, and excellent advocacy, writing, communication and organization skills. Litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and attending mediations is preferred, and previous experience with construction and/or property litigation is strongly preferred
. Valid Texas BAR license required.

In this position, associates will be required to take and defend depositions of architects, engineers, developers, general contractors and subcontractors, prepare and argue motions, and assist with trials and arbitration. Depending on the size and exposure of the case, the candidate will independently handle the case or work closely with a partner. This role is litigation focused but work on administrative/transactional matters may arise as well.
