DIVISION - LEGAL
The Legal Division represent the public interest by advocating for Commission staff in contested cases before the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) and the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT). The division provides legal analysis, case strategy, and litigation support in matters involving electric, telecommunications, and water and sewer utilities. In addition, the Legal Division offers legal and policy guidance to agency staff and the Commissioners, supports rule making and regulatory initiatives, and helps ensure the Commission's actions are legally sound and consistent with state and federal law.

The Legal Division is seeking to fill the role of Attorney a professional position responsible for providing legal support in contested cases involving electric, telecommunications, and water utility regulation. The role includes representing the Commission before the State Office of Administrative Hearing (SOAH), conducting legal research and analysis, drafting legal documents, and coordinating expert witness preparation. This position offers a path for both early-career and moderately experienced attorneys to develop and apply their administrative law expertise in a collaborative and impactful environment.
SALARY RANGE
Salary commensurate with qualifications. In addition to their offered salary, newly hired attorneys will receive a 6% legislatively authorized salary increase upon hire.
