Regulatory Compliance Specialist
About the job
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Draft, review and modify employment, customer, vendor, compliance, services, real estate and equipment contracts.
- Support merger and acquisition activities, including issue analysis, participation in due diligence and drafting and revision of contracts and supporting documents.
- Analyze federal and state legal, regulatory, and licensing issues for the Fagron North America executive team related to 503A pharmacies, 503B Outsourcing Facilities, drug wholesale and repackaging, and genomics.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for the organization with external suppliers and/or customers.
- Review, draft, and revise internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.
- Assist with ensuring that the organization conforms to statutory requirements and that any areas of action or improvement are highlighted in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Work with the Senior Attorney to ensure legal best practice, efficiency and effectiveness of procedures and methodologies of the organization.
- Assist the General Counsel and Senior Attorney with legal analysis and problem solving by identifying legal issues, synthesizing multiple legal requirements, and presenting legal and business recommendations that enable the company to achieve its objectives while mitigating risk.
- Participates in other assigned duties as designated by the General Counsel and Senior Attorney.
- Be the ambassador of Fagron Family Rules, Values and Culture.
Basic Qualifications
- JD and active membership in good standing in any state in the U.S.
- If not licensed in Texas, has the ability to become licensed in Texas within six months.
- 1-3 years of experience in a large law firm or corporation practicing corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and/or pharmaceutical or compounding law.
- Experience supporting a multi-state, multi-site rapidly growing organization preferred.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience or relevant highly-regulated industry preferred.
- Good working knowledge in corporate and pharmaceutical sectors.
- Knowledge and understanding of the 503A pharmacy, 503B Outsourcing Facility, and/or drug wholesale industries, specifically as it relates to the current regulatory environment, is preferred.
- Experience navigating complex legal issues that have a corporate-wide scope.
- A trusted advisor and confidant with exceptional judgment, communication and interpersonal skills, and critical and problem-solving skills.
- Well organized; able to manage and prioritize changing workloads and meet deadlines.
- Team player and leader who cultivates talent and encourages excellence while maintaining high ethical standards.
- JD and active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar (or able to become licensed in Texas within six months from employment start date.
