Responsibilities
  • Follow branch and company procedures to maintain minimum inventory levels while avoiding branch shortages of necessary materials to service our customers.
  • Review inventory levels through system and create vendor purchase orders to fulfill branch inventory needs on stock items as well as purchase non‑stock items when needed for sales force.
  • Review and maintain purchasing parameters on items within system to provide proper service levels to our customers.
  • Work with product team to ensure the product database has accurate pricing, costing, product descriptions, and vendor information.
  • Expedite and track all outstanding orders.
  • Make recommendations for major purchases of materials based on anticipated changes in pricing or unusual availability situations.
  • Establish professional vendor and branch relationships to develop trust and a solid working relationship to accomplish common goals.
  • Work with sales force to help resolve vendor procurement issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive business information.
  • Other responsibilities as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
  • Detail oriented with excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Self‑motivated, positive attitude, able to multi‑task within a fast‑paced environment.
  • Intermediate PC skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Purchasing knowledge including basic skills of procurement – order points, line points, demand, safety stock, excess and dead stock.
Specific Qualifications Required
  • A college degree in Industrial Distribution, Business Management and/or equivalent industry experience is requested.
Environment
  • Typical environment includes offices and warehouse.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
