AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, empowering our data centers with servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep the cloud running. This role focuses on sourcing electrical distribution capital equipment to support our expanding infrastructure, driving cost reduction, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
Key job responsibilities- Develop negotiation strategies to meet business objectives and sustain strategic supplier relationships for electrical distribution equipment.
- Create and execute strategic sourcing projects, supporting global end‑to‑end sourcing plans.
- Influence supplier manufacturing processes, technology choices, and policies to align with Amazon’s growth objectives.
- Negotiate and implement supplier agreements and contracts with cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Analyze cost‑reduction opportunities through volume leverage, supplier base optimization, and total cost of ownership reduction.
- Lead sourcing engagements and competitive bidding (RFI, RFQ, and RFP).
- Collaborate with business partners to continuously improve the capital equipment supply chain.
- Make optimal trade‑offs between schedule, resources, and scope, applying advanced technical and business knowledge to mitigate major risks.
- Help develop long‑term departmental strategies and influence cross‑company project development and delivery standards.
- 8+ years of experience in business procurement organizations, preferably in a consumer market segment.
- 6+ years of related industry experience.
- 8+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in global supply chain management and leading cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced consumer electronics product company.
- Experience in program, project, or product management, or leading product implementation.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies.
- Proven track record in cost reduction through negotiations with global suppliers.
- Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain, and Tier 1 OEM partners.
- Experience with best‑in‑class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should‑cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent).
