Site Purchasing Indirect Professional (Indirect Buyer)
Position SummaryThe Site Purchasing Indirect Professional plays a key role in supporting plant operations by delivering value through strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost optimization, and operational excellence. This position ensures the timely supply of indirect materials, services, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), CAPEX, and other plant-related requirements while driving cost savings, quality improvements, and supplier performance.
The successful candidate will act as a strategic business partner to plant operations, identifying market opportunities, managing supplier relationships, leading sourcing initiatives, and contributing to overall plant competitiveness through effective procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a high-performing supplier base that supports operational objectives in cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Identify and leverage market opportunities, including economic, technological, and geographic advantages, to meet plant purchasing needs.
- Lead competitive sourcing activities (RFQs/RFPs), ensuring fair supplier competition and compliance with company purchasing policies and ethical standards.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and recommend sourcing decisions to internal sourcing committees.
- Establish and maintain supplier performance reviews, including annual vendor evaluations and development plans.
- Manage supplier relationships and resolve commercial, quality, delivery, and service-related issues.
- Drive annual productivity initiatives and cost-reduction programs through:
- Process improvements
- Benchmarking activities
- Analyze purchasing costs across other plants and identify best practices and savings opportunities.
- Promote and implement supplier-led technical and process improvements that generate measurable savings.
- Support cross-plant purchasing synergies to leverage spend and optimize total cost.
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including requisition review, sourcing, contracting, purchasing, and payment processes.
- Ensure compliance with company governance, purchasing policies, financial controls, and spend authorization requirements.
- Administer local purchasing contracts and deploy global agreements at the site level.
- Monitor supplier fulfillment and ensure proper completion of the order-to-pay process through final payment.
- Develop solutions for recurring purchases to simplify and improve procurement efficiency.
- Partner with Finance and Operations teams to assess and mitigate supplier-related risks, including:
- Supply continuity
- Capacity constraints
- Support supplier crisis management activities and implement contingency plans when necessary.
- Track and report procurement KPIs, supplier performance metrics, and savings achievements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and reporting in company systems.
- Deliver monthly updates on procurement performance, savings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory
- Minimum of 4 years of purchasing experience within an industrial and international manufacturing environment.
- Experience in indirect procurement strongly preferred, including:
- Services and facilities management
- CAPEX equipment
- Returnable or expendable packaging
- Supplier relationship and performance management
- Strategic sourcing and RFQ/RFP processes
- Contract negotiation and administration
- Commodity management
- Cost analysis and cost reduction methodologies
- Project management
- Financial and cash flow fundamentals
- Commercial and contract law awareness
- Logistics concepts (Incoterms, VMI, consignment inventory)
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Business acumen and analytical thinking
- Customer-focused and results-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

- Fluent English (written and verbal)
